The annual race from Porteau Cove to Squamish takes place right in the heart of the windy season in Howe Sound. Squamish apparently means “Mother of the Wind” in Coast Salish and is a well-known windsurfing and kiting hotspot. This day it was blowing 25 to 35 knots.
